Sector3 Studios have released preview shots of their work-in-progress (WIP) Infineon Raceway for RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) and damn do they look good! I’m not exactly sure what’s in the water in Sweden but these pictures look like a serious step up in quality.
With only three U.S. tracks in R3E – Indianapolis, Laguna Seca and Mid-Ohio – Sonoma will be a nice addition to the title. No specific release date has been given but Sector3 has said that it’ll be out in early 2015, and by the look of these screenshots, I would say that sounds about right.
A question that these pictures do bring up is when will we see the other WIP tracks such as Macau? The artwork looked pretty far along back when we saw the preview. Hopefully we’ll see some more previews soon as well.
P.S.: The Kimi quote on the scoring pylon is incredible!

SachenRing is already released and again it doesn’t disappoint. Sector 3 have made huge developments to this Sim title in the last several months. For GT Road racing fans like myself this Sim is extremely satisfying, and there is a lot more development on the way.
Sonoma looks spectacular, cant wait to lay some rubber on this one.
Sector3 have posted some teaser shots of other tracks due out soon on their FaceBook page.
Good catch, I had forgotten, fixed.
It does look great! Not sure if R3E or AC. Look at the different skies: cloudy, clear.
It’ll be nice to have another US track in the rotation. This looks fantastic. Some of those pics are photo-realistic. S3S is really doing a terrific job with this sim.
No sooner do they release something (DTM 1992), then I’m immediately salivating over what’s coming next.
Keep up the good work Sector 3!
Sonoma is one of those tracks that I have a love/hate relationship, it is an easy rack to drive, but hard to drive quickly. I did have the honor of having some virtual one on one time on Simraceway with Allan McNish. I followed him a couple of laps and then he followed me and he gave me some help with my braking points. He really is a nice guy. He said Sonoma was his favorite U.S. track.
