  1. Great show guys, Welcome to the show John, (I am blinknurdead from the forums BTW), been watching ISR since pretty much day one.

One thing about the show though, not sure what you mean by P-Cars doesnt support triples I been running it in triples (5760×1080) with 99% of everything on max quality, granted I have a monster enthusiast system but it does work & works well for me. If you have a normal system you may need to turn down some eye candy but it should work fine. Or you having issues getting to work on triples to begin with? I use Nvidia surround btw not ATI.

    Keep up the good work.

    1. Amd user here. It works on triples just not well. If I turn everything off I get 70 fps. If I turn everything on I get 35 fps. Should be more of a min and max delta. Here’s some of my key specs: Intel i7 – 2600 @4.2GHz, AMD R9 280x 3GB, 8GB DDR3 memory, 5760×1080

      1. Gotcha, I misunderstood the show, I had thought you couldnt get it to work in triples and
you were getting low fps with one monitor. I will have to see if I can find any
benchmarks for P-Cars regarding Nvidia vs ATI, as far as vram you should be
fine with the 3gb… think mine with everything maxed averages 1.9gb usage, its
possible P-cars is not optimized for ATI or/and it just takes more horsepower
        to run optimally.

        ***
According to my OSD my GPUS show 1.9GB vram usage last time I noticed, though I
was playing with the settings at that time and I am not sure what the AA/ was
set at… so P-cars may actually use slightly more with everything maxed

        My system: 2 X Xeon 5690 12/24 core/HT , 48 GB DDR 3, EVGA SR-2 Mobo, EVGA 980
Kingpins in SLI, 2 X 500GB Samsung 850 SSD’s in RAID 0, though the core of my
system is, I think, is 6 years old now (I built it when EVGA first released the
SR-2) I have consistently upgraded everything else (actually I think the only
original parts are the SR-2 & one of the PSU’s) & from my research
there is no point of swapping to an X-99 since the performance gain is minimal
        if I only I had 1 X Xeon & since I have 2 Xeon’s it would be a downgrade
with the exception of RAM speed. You on the other hand would benefit from
an X-99, but is it really necessary/worth it for you, depends on what you use
your system for and I believe you said you primarily do IRacing which doesnt
require a lot of horsepower & from my understanding is not optimized for
SLI/Crossfire so you may be better off just getting a beefier single GPU, I
have not tested IRacing SLI/Crossfire performance impacts personally… I have
just seen people comment on it.

        I think
comparing our systems in regards to P-Cars benchmarks would be like comparing apples
to oranges, just too many variances in hardware.

        Hope you
get it figured out and welcome to the show, Darin does a great job but I think
having a co-host makes the show that much more enjoyable.

        PS: did a
little research after I wrote this, stumbled across this article/benchmark,
interesting read and may be part of your issue.
I have also said for years now that Nvidia (not sure about ATI) degrades
the performance overtime of old gen cards via drivers to get people to upgrade….nice
to see it somewhat substantiated in this article.

Note I had issue with the
scripts from the ads on this website in Chrome on my Laptop, I had to use IE…
if you have issues just kill the script, though it may be my Laptop…I have been
issues for the last week or so that I need to troubleshoot.

        1. Good stuff. That article was pretty interesting, I feel like that could be partly what’s going on. I need to play with it more. AMD has a newish program called “gaming envolved” that I need to check out (good chance it will do nothing).

  2. Great work, John and Darin!

John, is your track data available for others? I can easily see other curious simracers taking your numbers and working the data to show other comparisons.

    1. It isn’t but I’d be more than welcome to share my excel file. Maybe I’ll post it in the forums, let me look into it.

  3. Hi John , Your track data. Did you incorporate the oval tracks and their different configuration? I know everyone says Iracing has a lot of ovals… But their ovals all have road-coarse configuration.
