Thrustmaster T3PA Pedals and TH8A Shifter Almost Here

Earlier today, Thrustmaster teased on their Facebook page that the T3PA (Thrustmaster 3 Pedals Add-on) will be available in May.  In another word, soon.  The post also announced that the TH8A shifter will be available sometime this summer.  Both the pedals and shifter are part of the TX Racing Wheel Ecosystem, add-ons for the Ferrari 458 Italia TX Racing Wheel.

Even though the pedals are a few weeks out, Darin has been running them and will have his review of them next week.

  1. Looks like they don’t have the rubber on the brake to give it more progression like the ones you’ve been using. What makes it worse though is there looks like no room to even put your own one in.

Why can’t they use a big metal plate on the brake like the set that comes with the TX? I try to take stuff off mine but the bolts are such poor quality that they’re so easy to round, I had an Allen key that fit perfectly and because they’re made from such poor quality metal, it just turned a circle in there and rounded the thing. I had to drill it out and use my own.

If I could sum Thrustmaster up it would be “missed opportunities” as they seem to half arse everything and not care about the customer.

  2. I bought this wheel and it’s awesome, although the only complaint I have
is what you get for your money in regards to the quality of the
pedals. My last wheel was the Logitech G27, and the pedal set that
comes with the G27 are more durable and they also come with a clutch
    pedal standard.

Now Thrustmaster is probably going to charge us the same amount we payed for the 458TX, for the T3PA pedal
set that’s coming out. Even the leather that covered the entire
steering wheel on the G27 makes the 458 TX look cheap just like their
plastic pedals that don’t even have any grip on the bottom to stop them
from sliding on carpet! Logitech even put some thought into preventing
the G27 pedals from slipping under your feet if you’re using the pedals
on carpet by providing a plastic strip on the bottom of the pedals base
with small spikes to grip on carpet!

    Now saying that, obviously
the G27 is not compatible with the Xbox One, and that was the reason I
purchased the 458, but as I was saying, if you put the pedal and
steering wheel grip complaints aside, the steering wheel is amazing when
using it with Forza 5, Assetto Corsa (PC), Grid 2 (PC) and Shift 2
    (PC).

I’m looking forward to purchasing ‘Project Cars’ for the PC
and without a doubt, the 458 TX will compliment the game nicely indeed!
