Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Leather Edition Announced

81f2L4Xd85L._SL1500_

Just last week, Thrustmaster announced the new T300 Ferrari Intergral Racing Wheel Alcantara Edition for the PlayStation 4 and PC.  While PS4 and PC users were pumped – especially with the price – it did leave Xbox One owners out in the cold…until now.  Thrustmaster has just announced the TX Racing Wheel Leather Edition.  The package features the TX base, TM 28 Leather rim and T3PA pedals and will also be available for $469.99 on September 30th.

To some degree this news isn’t too surprising.  Fan of the show Vincent Lindsay tweeted us a link to the package on Amazon last week.  Damn Amazon, get to sell the wheel and get the exclusive scoop!

The release of this package is excellent news for Xbox One users.  While it isn’t the insane $210 savings that the T300 Ferrari Intergral Racing Wheel Alcantara Edition package is compared to buying the pieces individually, it does save you $40 and give you a very good setup for the Xbox One.

      1. ,Forza 6 crap 180% degrees wheel rotation and lag between your wheel movement and screen wheel movement obviously made for gamepads

        1. I don’t care if there is lag between the movement of the onscreen steering wheel, what I care about is that the car reacts to the input of the wheel the way it should…and it does. I don’t know what you’re talking about, with this 180 degree wheel rotation limit you seem to think exists? The Thrustmaster can go up to 900 degrees from lock to lock and you can set it up for anything in-between; around 270 for formula cars, all the way up to 900 for street racing.

          1. That is totally unimportant to me, I don’t even pay attention to the on-screen steering wheel when I’m driving.

Hahaha it’s your display and YOUR wheel, idiot. There is no lag for me. pcars SUCKS so bad and I have it for PC glitches everywhere. My wheel can go 900, but I didn’t buy a cheap plastic wheel.

          1. In the way you express I understand that you are Albert Einstein! LOL
It is an honor for me to talk with the greatest mind of the nineteenth century sir!
            I feel blessed!
            I am your big fan!
            Thank you for your time!
I almost forgot, can give me an autograph?
            Thanks in advance!

      2. ???

Forza 6 isn’t even the most sim-like forza on console.

Pit crew and grid position card booster packs? A brake engineer who gives you more engine power when racing rules would disqualify you for that? WTF is this horseshit??

Where’s the race qualifying laps? Why are races so wet they would be cancelled due to aquaplaning and staying that way for the entire race suddenly so important relative to changing weather conditions which is the only kind of wet racing that occurs? Why can’t we switch off the laggy steering wheel on screen or change the fov as in forza 3? Why do we still have forza being advertised on triple screens at game shows when the last two iterations don’t support them?

If you have triple screens, your console game of choice is Forza 4/GT5/GT6.

If you want to play with car setup, your game of choice is pcars.

If you want to play with others, you can join a league, you can tackle time trial leader boards across a number of games, or it’s iracing.

If you already have a steering wheel, you’re going to be tied to, either, 360, xbone, ps3/ps4, and the PC with any of the above.

The only thing Forza offers above pcars is drivatars, unmanaged league racing, and the aforementioned static wet weather conditions.

Disclaimer: I am a triple screen user as about half my corners are done by feel rather than reference points, so I am neither interested in Forza nor PCars until that changes. I am a GT fan by virtue of the fact it actually works with triple screens, and I keep kidding myself that I might turn into a real racer with GT Academy.

        1. Definitely kidding yourself if you’re thinking you’ll turn into a real racer with a sim, even GT Academy or something like iRacing. Better to go the karting route.

          1. I have a Yamaha r6 I take to the track. Sim racing was meant to be a method of learning to better read the road at speed and ingrain more reference point usage into me.

Recent financial events have meant that I can no longer take the motorbike to the track as a hobby either so only the unrealistic dream is left.

        2. Another Needless Network

If only you actually had logic, the booster packs are only for SINGLE PLAYER and if you suck bad enough to use them your times don’t count anyways, nobody forces you to use them and any good racer races ONLINE not single player. Your logic is horsehit.

Qualifying laps? Forza 6 is a pickup and play racer not a one race an hour borefest like iRacing, here make your appointment and race on our schedule INSTEAD OF RACING WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT. Looks like little junior can’t drive in the rain, sucks to be you. The steering wheel isn’t lagging on my DLP projector, check your settings on your TV, idiots like you blame the game for your own stupid mistakes based on your stupidity around how display tech works. Because the game show versions do support 3 screens that’s why, genius. If it doesn’t support 3 screens then 3 won’t work, YOU IDIOT. Forza will soon stream to PC for use with Oculus Rift, 3 screens is old tech these days.

I can play with my car setup and I certainly don’t use the patch me 100x until I work properly project glitch, I mean project cars.

I can play with 24 players in FM 6 and not get incident points when some retard backs into me on the starting grid before the race has even started, so fuck iracing and it’s retard inspired incident system and UGLY DX 9 graphics for 4x the price of a partial DX12 game like FM6.

My wheel works on PC,XO, pos3 and pos4

The many things FM6 offers over project glitch is, well, IT ACTUALLY WORKS WITHOUT PATCH AFTER PATCH AFTER FN PATCH Oh yeah and actual 3D modeled puddles not just a stupid lower the surface grip for rain.

Sucks to be you triple screen user, I use Oculus Rift. We don’t care that you don’t play FM6 and saying you’re a gt fan is FN HILARIOUS, phony sonjy’s little joke of a racer that uses RUBBERBAND in multiplayer, you should be embarrassed even bringing it up.

You last gen retards shouldn’t even comment on current gen.

          1. > My wheel works on PC,XO, pos3 and pos4

I suppose it also vomits up beer and pees rainbows. Because so far, the only wheel *base* that is compatible with all systems still requires you to physically change the wheel between systems due to bass-ackwards licensing constraints.

How much did your time machine to bring back an xbox 2 with forza 8 cost, again? Because I know that the xbone hardware can’t push an occulus at 60fps, and I also know that less than 60fps is a trip to motion sickness city.

But thanks for the laugh regarding how you actually use an occulus, when we were discussing Forza 6, which doesn’t work with an occulus nor triple screens.

I’m not a console racer, and GT certainly has rather large issues when it comes to limited ffb through the steering wheel and a “premium” F1 Vettel challenge that obviously is well beyond the limits of the physics engine. But at least it has variable weather conditions and tyres that degrade and triple screen support.

            > The steering wheel isn’t lagging on my DLP projector, check your settings on your TV, idiots like you blame the game for your own stupid mistakes based on your stupidity around how display tech works.

The steering wheel rendering lag is very obviously there, by about half a second, as reported and confirmed by the ISRTV guys themselves. I’m actually surprised that you’re not noticing your hands being rendered half a second behind on a steering wheel that can’t turn more than 360 degrees in your occulus simulation (although we both know that in forza it’s just a black screen, as established above).

I suppose it’s possible you used that same time machine from above to render the steering wheel from 0.5 seconds in the future in-game, just to get your money’s worth, but colour me slightly skeptical that your DLP has a time machine plug on it?

            > I can play with 24 players in FM 6 and not get incident points when some retard backs into me on the starting grid before the race has even started, so fuck iracing and it’s retard inspired incident system and UGLY DX 9 graphics for 4x the price of a partial DX12 game like FM6.

For the cost of an xbone and xbone-exclusive steering wheel, you can purchase all of the content on iracing. And it will run on 5 year old hardware, although anything recent can be rendered on triple screens at 120fps or greater. You can also buy 3 computer monitors for roughly the same cost as a smart tv, so it really is just a question of why you chose to spend your money the way that you did.

Specifically to iRacing, the tracks are also a whole hell of a lot more detailed than forza, and now have rubbering. But sure, you can have your single screen graphics played from the couch with a horrible FOV. I’d rather spot an apex, myself; a sentiment that John and Darin have also echoed in the previous TWISR.

I am genuinely curious though — how does the automated marshalling in Forza work if it doesn’t penalise you for making contact?

          2. ITT: Forza fanboi talks about how his beta screendoor effect occulus is so much better than triple screens, despite the fact it doesn’t work with any console titles whatsoever, and that his magical steering wheel works with all current systems despite such a contraption not existing (even the CSWV2 requires a new rim), not having rendering lag on his steering wheel that is well-documented even by the ISRTV guys, on a game that consistently has the weakest driving physics of any simcade title on console — because apparently real racers refuse to drive unless there’s puddles.

Aw, did I touch a nerve, girly? I’ll take some screen door over seeing a house all around me while I race, you peasant. If you weren’t so uneducated you would know Xbox One will stream to the PC and use Oculus Rift as a matter of fact Oculus Rift will ship with an Xbox One controller.

SUCKS TO BE YOU my CSWV2 works with 4 platforms and only requires one wheel to do it. Educate yourself instead of embarrassing yourself here in the comments. The input lag only happens to dummies with cheap displays or incorrect settings, again, educate yourself. CSW V2 doesn’t have weak FFB on any title, stick to your plastic junk, peasant. And if ISRTV giuys includre john sabol then I laugh in your face as that kid has nothing to offer.

          4. I don’t think xbone occulus support works how you think xbone occulus support works nor how Microsoft has demonstrated that it works.

The choice is between adjusting your seating position in front of a real tv without a screen door spoiling the view to get the “best” fov you can, and sitting in a virtual room where you can’t change your seating position relative to the tv nor see your hands on a steering wheel (let alone a stick shifter, handbrake, or button box), all for the low low price of needing an xbone plus a beefy computer that would be better off pushing Assetto or IRacing plus an occulus plus the lag of streaming xbone to windows, plus the lag of an additional rendering pipeline to put the image from the xbox into the occulus, all while *still* needing to use xbone-specific hardware to steer.

Either way, what you see is a room around a single tv, and you’re mocking three tvs giving someone 160-180 degree peripheral vision of a track.

Future occulus support will have potential, but no pc title is there yet. And forza is at least 5 years behind pc titles (I argue 8 years, based on physics, but they’d rather play with puddles than work on those apparently).

I’m glad you found it to be good value for money to sit on a waiting list and buy a clubsport v2 plus universal hub plus rim plus, presumably, clubsport pedals, plus all of that shipping for your xbox title. The words “overkill” spring to mind however, considering you could have bought 4 txes for less. Especially given Forza’s anemic force feedback and unconfigurable FOV.

I personally would have put that money into an OSW or accuforce. The OSW could be had for the cost of the xbone plus aforementioned costs easily.

Granted, I’m probably trying to reason with an internet wanker who wants to win an argument by pretending he owns hardware that would be rather unwise to purchase in reality.

          5. Another Needless Network

I think it works EXACTLY like the MS rep said it will work and what YOU think I think is completely irrelevant. No, looking around and seeing your house in every direction is NOT the best , not even close.

I don’t even use a TV like you, peasant. I use a DLP projector onto a 106″ screen and my Oculus Rift. All you gimps that talk about lag are just technically challenged retards.

I couldn’t possibly care any less of your opinion of FM6, you’ve never even played it, you’re a little sony pony from gt planet.

Haha you’re so stupid, I didn’t have to sit on any waiting list I was a previous owner of a CSRE at launch so I had a first batch invite. I’ve owned CSP for over 5 years. CSW V2 is just a base you have to buy a rim for it anyways, you retard. Not my fault you’re such a little sony peasant.

Hahaha, you little sony pony my FFB is brilliant in FM6 go back to your little gt and plastic wheel and RUBBERBAND in multiplayer, it suits you.

I wouldn’t give that asswipe from accuforce 5 cents of my money and it only works ON ONE PLATFORM. I also never asked what you would put money into because I don’t care, you even think a XBOX ONE is expensive, you little peasant.

Of course I’m tlaking to a pathetic little sony pony from the girl pool over at5 gt planet.

          6. Yeah. Why see your house in every direction when you can see a pixellated fake house with screen door effect instead.

            ??

But hey, let’s ignore the steering wheel rendering lag, which has been documented multiple times, and the fact that fov is not adjustable, the fact that the steering wheel cannot be switched off, and the fact that the steering wheel will always render with a 360 degree turning radius — since most of these aren’t relevant when your occulus is looking at a virtual tv screen anyway so screw immersion — and point out that streaming at 60fps, and then re-rendering at a perfect 120fps must, by its very nature, introduce a theoretical minimum 25ms latency [((1/60) + (1/120))*1000] just in rendering refresh rates BEFORE considering any delay caused through actual processing and transmission of the signal.

In crayon: to play a game in your living room, you are introducing more latency than is normally involved in sending across the entirety of Australia, and you are advertising it as a feature.

I merely originally remarked that GT6 supports triple screens. You, sir, happen to be thread shitting in every news discussion, even those about games that aren’t forza, and talking about forza. I wonder who the fanboy is?

          7. Another Needless Network

Hey idiot, I don’t see anything but the track and race environment around me. There is NO LAG for steering animation on my DLP projector SUCKS TO BE YOU, but what would you know? You don’t even have an XBOX ONE, you little sony pony phony. Stick to gt arcade RUBBERBAND in multiplayer and your crap wheel made of plastic.

          8. Another Needless Network

WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT DARIN SAYS? There is ZERO lag on my DLP projector and idiots like you are too stupid to do anything yourself and blindly believe anything you hear. If you weren’t so stupid you’d know Darin caused the latency by enabling a feature on his TV. YOU SURE ARE DUMB.

          9. What does it matter what someone doing an objective review with video evidence says, on a website run by that person?

The TV had post processing enabled at 23:00.

At 24:00, in “game mode”, it did not. There was still visible latency.

Either game mode tvs have what looks like 300ms latency inherently, which somehow Darin hasn’t noticed in any other title running on it, your copy of forza is “special”, or you are lying (or your DLP is capable of time travel, but I’ll just file that under lying).

          10. Another Needless Network

It couldn’t be any more obvious how clueless you are, you don’t even have an Oculus or an XO you have a little gaystation you sony pony phony.

    1. http://www.pagnianimports.com.au/racing-wheels-accessories/xbox-one-steering-wheels/thrustmaster-tx-racing-wheel-leather-edition.html

Keep an eye on this slot.

In my experience, Pagnian has been good on price when considering shipping compared to the competition, and are one of Thrustmaster’s best Australian distributors when it comes to getting their hands on stock and the full product lineups (they had shifters and pedals in stock when Amazon was all out, for example). Pity about the current value of the australian dollar though.

Full disclosure: I got a T300GTE bundle delivered to my door from them last year for $480, also a next level motion platform combined with that order, and their office chair in a separate order.

      1. I got an email from Pagnian last week. This wheel is likely to be $799 in Australia. That is pretty expensive. Looks like it gets relegated to tax time next year
