Sector 3 Studios wishes us all a happy New Year with a peek at what we can expect in 2017 from the Swedish developers. VR support and more is on the cards for the title next year. New content is currently waiting in the wings to be released, additionally, new game features are being worked on right now!
According to their FaceBook post:
VR support is well on its way, as well as a flag system, manual pitstops, AI improvements, different tyre compounds, new data displays and constantly evolving physic updates. The Multiplayer mode will be expanded with player rankings, a license system and scheduled races in official online championships to provide you the best virtual Motorsport Experience.
Thanks to all of you for the support this year, and see you on track again in 2017!
We can certainly look forward to bigger and better things from the team at Sector 3, I for one, am eagerly awaiting the return of VR support to the title. The earlier support the game enjoyed when the DK2 was released may have required some hacking to get it to work, but was lots of fun when it did. It will be interesting to see which route they take when it comes to the UI in VR. Hopefully, the studio will shed more light on its upcoming support as they progress with their development and close in on releasing the much anticipated feature!
In the mean time, here are several in-game screenshots of some of the new content we can expect to see released in 2017. What you see here is the BMW M6 GT3, McLaren 650S GT3, Volvo Polestar, some Indy Cars and an as yet unannounced F1 looking car running at Silverstone.
