When WRC 6 released earlier this year, there was something absent that really confused me…the inability to have multiple USB input devices. A few months later patch 1.0.52 seems to address this issue.
This new patch includes:
-Ingame “Change controller” option bug fix
-Improved multiple USB devices support
-Press start screen bug fix for unsupported wheels
And that is it. It would have been nice to get some elaboration from the WRC 6 team, but no such luck so we are just going to have to make an educated guess here. Multiple input devices do seem reasonable as well as some support for previously unsupported wheels…I think. It is hard to tell because again, it is kind of vague.
I searched a little and it does seem that there are users now driving with wheels that would not previously work with WRC 6 as well as using multiple inputs. That is good news, but is this kind of patch too late to ride that initial wave of chatter and promotion when WRC 6 launched? As far as I am concerned it is not a case of “too little, too late” because there will always be current customers and prospective buyers that this will effect in a positive way. I am just wondering if this could have swayed some of the negative “arcade” comments to the positive side and possibly gotten a little better word of mouth to increase sales?
If you are still wondering; no, I do not think WRC 6 is as bad as some people make it out to be and I do not believe the handling model is “arcade” either. Surely not a hardcore sim, but it does take some finesse to get the car through the stage quickly. Either way, WRC 6 is a substantial step up from the 2015, WRC 5 and this just help push it further in that direction.
