Codemasters – F1 2016 – Now Available For IOS Devices

No console or PC in sight? The choice of mobile racing for IOS devices has been boosted by the arrival of Codemasters’ mobile version of F1 2016! This new IOS release confirms the status of the game as the only officially licensed mobile version of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship.

The game developer Exient, a company based in Oxford and Leamington Spa, England was founded in 2001 by David Hawkins and Charles Chapman, partnered with Codemasters to bring F1 2016 to the IOS platform. This cooperation has allowed for the exploitation of Apple’s new A10 chip, which can be found in the latest iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The chip has enough processing power to render 1.4 million on-screen polygons simultaneously, which according to Ian Flatt, executive producer of F1 games at Codemasters, delivers console like performance mobile gaming.

As with the major platforms, the mobile version of F1 2016 contains all official F1 teams, drivers and circuits from the 2016 campaign. The game is playable in four modes; Quick Race, Full Season, Custom Season and Time Trial. For players that don’t happen to own an IOS device, F1 2016 is also scheduled to become available for Android devices, as well as Apple TV in the not too distant future.

A good thing to know, your IOS device will require IOS versions 8.1 < 9 or 10 and a minimum 2.67 GB of free space in order to install F1 2016. If you would like to check out the iOS version of F1 2016 for yourself, it is now available on iTunes for  €9,99, £7.99 and $9.99.
