Project CARS Location List Updated

Project CARS, one of the most ambitious racing titles of this modern era, has been touted as having one of the most diverse location lists of any racing title. However, they have been relatively quiet about official track announcements. Today, they have released more locations to their public list, with quite a few to be excited about!

Project CARS Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen will be making its appearance to Slightly Mad Studio’s racing title, which will make Project CARS one of the only console titles outside of NASCAR to feature the track. Mount Panorama, also known as Bathurst, will give racers a shot at taming the treacherous mountain. HockenheimRing will bring one of the fan favorite Grand Prix circuits to PCARS as well. The full list of tracks in Project CARS as of now is:

  • Azure Coast
  • Azure Circuit
  • Calornia Highway
  • Glencairn Karting Circuit
  • Mount Panorama
  • Oulton Park
  • Road America
  • Watkins Glen
  • Brands Hatch
  • Dubai Autodrome
  • HockenheimRing
  • Imola
  • Monza
  • Motorsport Arena Oschersleben
  • Silverstone
  • Circuit Zolder

Note that this is in no way a final circuit list, with many more courses being in development. An interesting note is that on the site (in the slideshow), there is a screenshot featuring Sonoma Raceway. While it has not been officially confirmed, it has been known to be in development, with quite a few videos showcasing the course. I’m stoked to see that track as well, because it’s my home track, and I hope it’s a high quality recreation.

Project CARS will be released November 18th in the United States, November 21st elsewhere, for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Wii U version has been pushed back to 2015, which will likely coincide with the Steam OS release. PCARS is now available for pre-order, with the Limited Edition being available in international markets. There is no word as of now as to if the Limited Edition will make its way stateside.

What track are you looking forward to seeing in Project CARS? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. And no word on whether they are going to assist the community by providing G27 PS4 driver support either …Meh

    1. the issue with ps4 g27 compatibility has to do with some security chip that the PS4 requires in all peripherals. the g27 does not have one, and thus…. it has nothing to do with pcars in any way and there is nothing they can do

      1. i dont believe that or they put that chip in the t500 its more on not paying the licensing fees to the Immersion the logitech partner or remake a new settlement

        1. You’re correct somewhat on the chip. There is no special chip. The peripheral security is all in the Thrustmaster Firmware code. Logitech devices don’t have upgradable firmware. The only possible way for Logitech to make their controllers usable on PS4 would be with an adapter between the those old wheels and the PS4.

There is not ONE, I repeat, ONE single game company out there that has Logitech G series wheel support on the PS4. This predisposition of entitlement generation children demanding Game studios make their hardware compatible is preposterous. KNOCK – IT – OFF!! You’re barking up the wrong tree!!!

    1. I have the TX as well. And I’m a WMD backer. So I can only tell you about the ‘feel’ on the PC version. It awesome!!! I went from a Logitech DFGT to the TX for comparison. If I switch back and forth between them the difference is very noticeable. The TX feels ‘Finer’ for lack of a better description. Meaning I get more feeling from the TX than I do the DFGT. AFAIK the XB1 should also have the same base FFB system as the PC version. After all an XB1’s hardware/software is just a PC with a special hybrid version of Windows. 🙂

      1. I got the TX wheel last week and am liking it quite a bit. I’ve upgraded from the G27 and there’s a noticeable improvement in the FFB in intensity, speed and smoothness. Even if I end up not using it much for the XBO it’s a worthwhile upgrade from the G27. I will be wanting a better pedal set, however, The set that comes with the TX are nowhere near as good as the G27 pedals. I’ll probably get the T3PA pedals at some point.
