Like clock work, Assetto Corsa continues to turn out updates every two weeks (which has to be a record for a sim racing title). Today, update 0.8 was released with new content and updates to the sim. On the content side, Niki Lauda’s 1975 Ferrari 312T Formula 1 car joins the sim. The car was the first Formula 1 car to feature a transverse-mounted gearbox (where the T in the name comes from), a flat-12 naturally aspirated powerplant and a 5-speed manual gearbox. As with most classic Formula 1 cars, I’m sure it will be a handful. The Lotus Exige 240 was also released, adding to the rapidly growing collection of Lotus vehicles in the sim.
Notable updates to the sim include revised AI behavior, collision performance improvements, improved rearview mirrors and new sky box with clouds. Assetto Corsa can be purchased for $39.99 from Steam Early Access. The entire changelog can be viewed below:
