While Assetto Corsa has clearly been busy working on (and teasing) the forthcoming Dream Pack, it doesn’t mean the team at Kunos has ignored bugs that hurt the current user experience. That’s were update 1.0.2 comes in. While its a small update, it should fix some annoyances that are currently present.
The entire changelog can be seen below, and from the looks of it, I think we can coin this the “Collision Build.” Whether it was too much collision or none at all, it appears like update 1.0.2 should make the simulation react to impacts the way its suppose to.
v1.0.2 changelog:
– Fixed wrong impact speed calculation for car to car contact resulting in too much damage
– Fixed possible wrong grain calculations when tyre has no load
– Fixed car bottom not colliding with road
– Fixed bottom collision box for Mercedes SLS GT3, Lotus Evora GX and GTC, Ferrari 312T, Pagani Huayra
– Fixed wrong camber for remote cars on multiplayer
And speaking of those Dream Pack teasers, here’s another one! The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 (say that three times fast) will be coming to the Dream Pack in all its…wait…it isn’t all-wheel drive?
Yes, Kunos’s own Aristotelis Vasilakos has nicknamed the car the “Frankenstein Godzilla” thanks to homologation efforts that turn the road going all-wheel drive GT-R into a rear wheel drive only GT3 racer. Aristotelis describes the car as very unbalanced in terms of weight and downforce when compared to its GT3 competitors, which is why the car has 600 bhp while the rest of the field is between 480-520 bhp.
So pretty much its a V8 Supercar….without a V8…oh yea that’s cool now. Comparison totally holds up!
The Dream Pack will be out in Q1 2015, allegedly in a matter of weeks, not months. Oh boy.

Sounds a lot like the one on GT6. Not that it will be anything like that, but they have a car with similar name and stats. I am looking forward to the car. It ought to be quite a beast. Heavy, powerful, a real handful of fun. Sort of like a Ford GT…Not in layout but in overall feel.
Not any close to Ford GT GT3 IMO. Ford is very well balanced mid-engine car… And GTR35 GT3 as it feels in other games (and as Aris says) is not balanced at all – and not mid-engine… can’t really compare mid-engine to front-engine… and Ford GT3 does not feel heavy in iRacing or R3E for example, GTR35 GT3 feels heavy, true.
You are correct, it is not going to be like the GT in any way except that it will be heavier and probably slower thru the corners than the other cars in the class. I did forget to mention that I am actually referring to the Ford GT in iRacing being the slower, heavier car in its class. I did mix my games and not footnote them. I had just finished a round of testing the cars in the iRacing Daytona 2.4 hrs. race. I mentioned GT6 and then went right into my iRacing reference. Sorry for the confusion. Mostly mine. LOL
No such thing as too many GT3 cars so, yeah, bring it on. Looking forward to it.
