Well one week has passed since Kunos released version 0.8 of Assetto Corsa, and they have made some noteworthy announcements, specifically about Nissan and RUF.
Last month, Kunos announced a partnership with RUF, and now the first in-game screenshot of the CTR has been released. This will be one of 3 cars to be coming from the German manufacturer, with two more to be unveiled in the future. Based off of the 1987 Porsche 911, the CTR “Yellowbird” was the fastest production car in the world, beating the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 to a top speed of 211 miles per hour.
In addition to the RUF preview, Kunos has also unveiled the next manufacturer to be added to Assetto Corsa. Nissan was one of the top makes requested in Assetto Corsa’s December polls, with the GT-R being one of the more popular models. Two GT-R’s have been announced, the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo, and the Nissan GT-R GT3 race car. The Nismo will be included at launch, while the GT3 will be bundled in the September DLC pack, which will also include the laser-scanned Nurburgring Nordschleife.
If you still haven’t picked up Assetto Corsa, now’s as good a time as ever. With it being in Early Access, you can still purchase the full title for $39.99 (20% savings), and get to play the title before it is released. You can purchase it from Steam.
