Chevrolet Monza Dekon Coming to R3E

We’ve known RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) has been working on some new old school content (oxymoron) but now the breadth of that content is starting to become clearer.  The clearer picture is thanks to the unveiling of the Chevrolet Monza Dekon, coming to R3E soon.

The 1975 Chevrolet Monza competed in IMSA’s GT Series in the AAGT class.  Powered by a Corvette engine and sporting body panels that were far from stock (sans windshield, rear window and roof), the Monza’s took the fight to the Porsche Carreras, dominating the 1976-1977 seasons.

The Chevrolet Monza falls into an FIA classification of cars known as Group 5.  R3E currently has two Group 5 cars, the BMW 320 Turbo and Zakspeed Capri, and now have two more coming in the form of the Fabcar 935 and Chevrolet Monza Dekon.  Based off of the reserved post spaces on the Group 5 forum discussion, I’m sure we’ll be seeing at least a couple more cars to create a well rounded pack.

  1. I absolutely LOVE what S3S is doing with R3E. Their vehicle choices are bold and exciting. The Fabcar and this Monza will be outstanding additions to the G5 class. Kudos to them for thinking “outside the box” with the car selections.

Really looking forward to this and the Fabcar! Keep it up, Sector 3. Every time you step up to the plate you seem to hit one out of the park.

This class will definitely be my favorite once these two new cars are released.
