A lot of sim racers have wished that they could use their Fanatec Clubsport Wheel rims on Thrustmaster wheel bases. DigiProst has decided to make that dream a reality, with his project to get a Fanatec BMW M3 GT2 rim onto a Thrustmaster T500RS base.

The video clocks in at a little shy of ten minutes, and captures the entire process of fitting the aftermarket quick release system onto the rim and wheel base. While none of the rim’s buttons or the LED display are functional at this point in time, DigiProst is working on getting them to a working status. Note that to fit the new quick release on the rim, you will need to disassemble the rim, and will void the warranty. The T500 requires no internal modification, and will not void the warranty or affect use with other rims.
This may be a valuable mod that can expand to the assortment of wheels that are possible on the T500RS, if you’re a bit of a tinkerer. Have you ever wanted to use a Fanatec rim on a Thrustmaster base, or vice versa?
