Say what you may about the GRID series, but Codemasters is doing a great job pushing the boundaries of the kinds of racing able to be participated in. GRID Autosport has been bringing us more styles of racing, and this latest pack brings us Drag Racing!

This new pack features 3 drag-specific cars, 3 drag strips, and the drag racing mode. In addition to the cars included in the pack, a large amount of the existing GRID Autosport roster can be raced in the drag mode, including the supercars and hypercars. The new mode brings you all of the official drag racing rules, which looks to be one of the first in a modern racing title. You will need to pre-stage and stage your car, before having the tree lights drop at accurate half second intervals. Strips will feature multiple lengths, up to a mile.
You will also be able to get in depth with setting up your car. When you are trying to tame a 8,000 horsepower, 300+ MPH Funny Car, you’ll want to make suspension adjustments, to keep the car from spinning the tires or doing wheelies. You will also want to keep from having the car drift into other lanes, which will result in a disqualification.

I have not yet tried it but I would LOVE a decent drag racing game. NHRA and IHRA used to have games but because it was difficult with the older technology to experience the thrill of the acceleration… Is Grid Autosport on PC available for triple screens? I am going to look into this further. Got my interest piqued.
i have dual monitors and it uses both. second is just stats though.
I watched a video that shows a guy with the early game and he was using triples and he showed that second screen with the stats button. So I guess you could run 4 screens and have your stats. So that was good, but there was a lot of other stuff that I was unimpressed with the quality. Mirrors, the view in car in race. .. It really felt like PS3 type quality, although you can triple screen. It did say that you can voice chat which is good. Still looking at it.
Tim, I agree a drag racing game is sorely missing. Let me know if you’re gonna try this. I have Grid but haven’t played in it awhile. Assetto Corsa has a drag strip but last time I was on it didn’t have a tree. What’s the point if no lights???
Anyway I’m really excited to try this.
Nifty, now if they’ll add NHRA sanctioned Drag strips in the US I might buy Grid Autosport and this DLC. I used to race at Pomona and Firebird.
this pack is alot of fun takes little practice only thing missing is the burnout for sticky wheels 🙂 but well worth the money
