One of the hotly contested battles in our community is the war between rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa. These two sim racing heavyweights are looking to be the go-to platform for modders. Some modders are doing double duty in both platforms, a main example being MAK Corp. Earlier this week, they released their International Formula Series 3 (IFS3) mod for Assetto Corsa, as well as updating the rFactor 2 version. GamerMuscle decided to take a look at the two mods, to see how they are progressing on their respective platforms.

It is worth mentioning that the IFS3 mod for rFactor 2 is at version 0.9, while the Assetto Corsa counterpart is at version 0.5 in its first release for Kunos’ sim. Due to this fact, this video is NOT meant to be a head-to-head comparison. The IFS3 mod first was released in rF2 back last year, so it has a little bit of a head start ahead of AC’s version. All things considered, it sounds like the Assetto Corsa version is shaping out quite nicely, and likely will get to the same level as rFactor 2’s in a short period of time. Hopefully when we reach that point in time, we can see a true comparison.
If you are interested in checking out either version of the IFS3 mod, you can find the mod in MAK-Corp’s downloads page on their website.
Have you given the IFS3 mod a spin on rFactor 2 or Assetto Corsa? What are your thoughts on it? Let us know!

Good point about the A.C. having to shift after the lights, it bugs me. I am glad to see multiple games developing so fast, but where are all the sim-racers? I wonder if there will be enough this Fall when those new releases open? I know iRacing has its following, but for fun racing with a group of folks where you can chat and get to know each other…
