iRacing has released a render of what is the next car to be coming to their service, the Holden Commodore VF V8 Supercar.
The Holden Commodore VF will likely make it into the next build in iRacing, and is based off Red Bull Racing’s entry in the 2013 season. This car will bring more diversity to the iRacing V8 Supercars Championship, being mixed with the Ford Falcon. As many people know, the Aussies have some devout loyalties to their manufacturer of choice, be it Ford or Holden. I feel this is a good move on iRacing’s part, allowing racers to have more freedom of choice in the popular road racing series.
The Holden Commodore is General Motors’ entry in the International V8 Supercars series. The 2013 season brought the new “Car of the Future”, which helped cut cost and allowed other manufacturers to enter, such as Nissan and Mercedes-Benz. The iRacing Ford Falcon will also be updated to 2013 specifications in the near future, but we don’t know too much about how that will work yet.
The Holden Commodore was initially announced in 2013 for a mid-2014 release, but was postponed. It is planned to be released in the 2014 Season 4 build, alongside the Driver Swap functionality. However, Season 4 will be a condensed season, only lasting 6 weeks before the next update, so could we be seeing another delay for the Holden?
Are you looking forward to the Holden Commodore being released to iRacing later this year? Let us know in the comments below!

Yes and No. I am looking forward to trying a different version of the Ford, but it will just probably be just a different skin. I hope not, but that is what the other cars like the Nascar feel like to me at least.
