iRacing – 2014 Season 2 Update and Imola Development

The next season of iRacing is nearly upon us, with racers scrambling to squeeze the last bit of Safety Rating to reach a promotion, or to keep from a demotion. It also means new updates are on the way, and if Steve Myers’ Twitter feed is any indication, we should be in for a good one! One week from today, the BMW Z4 GT3 is expected to exit the garage, while the green flag will drop on Lucas Oil Raceway and the Circuit of Americas. COTA will mark the 5th modern Formula One circuit currently on iRacing’s roster, and the newest circuit, with the real life circuit hosting it’s inaugural race in 2012.

Steve Myers also has announced that scanning is underway at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, also known as Imola. The classic F1 circuit was host of the San Marino Grand Prix  from 1981 through 2006, as well as host of the 1980 Italian Grand Prix. The track is widely known for the crash that took the life of Ayrton Senna in 1994. The circuit is also one of the few anti-clockwise circuits, which will make for some interesting action.

What piece of content are you most looking forward to next week? Are you excited for Imola’s development? Let us know!
