The GT3 Series in iRacing.com is one of the newer series in the service, but it’s picked up a lot of steam, with two cars just added in the past year! With rumors swirling about a fourth GT3 car, the Ford GT, coming to the sim, iRacing has totally come out of the blue to announce a manufacturer nobody saw coming!
Aston Martin was just announced today as the latest marque to arrive to the popular racing service. Two cars have been announced to be coming to the sim, with more to be announced in the future. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 will enter iRacing’s counterpart, going toe to toe with the BMW, McLaren, and RUF. The iconic DBR9 racecar, which is notable for taking home the 2005 12H of Sebring victory, as well as the 2007 GT1 trophy in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“The opportunity to produce these authentic digital Aston Martins is genuinely exciting news for iRacing,” says Tony Gardner, President of iRacing.com. “Aston Martin has long been synonymous with sports car racing excellence, and the opportunity to race the Vantage GT3, DBR9 and other Aston Martins on the virtual tracks of iRacing will generate tremendous enthusiasm among our members.”
This announcement also comes in collaboration with the iRacing Nurburgring 1000, which is set to run next weekend. The 5th round of the Blancpain Endurance Series will also become a major gathering point for sim racers, with the SimRacingEXPO also being at the legendary race circuit. Sim Racing companies from all around the world will gather together at The Ring Boulevard to create a sim racing gathering of which we’ve never seen before!
To celebrate the event, iRacing has a free 3-month promotion going on through October 15th (only valid for new iRacing accounts). All you have to do is check out www.iracing.com/nurburgring1000/ and sign up! It’s a great deal, and if you sign up now, you’ll most likely be able to capitalize on the Black Friday specials that iRacing is well known for.

Holy crap yes, DBR9 if you please…..
Iracing delivery, oh yes!
Super excited for this new car! Just wishing for a Lambo, Ferrari, Mercedes… Can you imagine racing all these great GT3 cars with 46 other drivers. Going to be awesome!!!
Question is – when will they be available?
One of my all time favorites. Can not wait for this one.
BRING IT ON!
Austin Martin… Sure… But why isn’t anyone talking about the fact that there is no nurburgring (even the gp track would suffice if the full track is too big to be playable on iR), while they are sponsoring the event? I would thing that PR 101 would teach one to state that the track is “in development” (even if it isn’t frankly).
Since the race is next weekend I wouldn’t be suprised to see an announcement at the track. Now if it doesn’t happen then I’ll be very confused why they sponsored a race at a track they don’t have. But I think this Aston announcement is a lead in to the bigger announcement of the Nurburgring next weekend. At least I hope that’s the case.
