Lotus 98T Coming in Next Assetto Corsa Update

Kunos Simulazioni has announced that an eagerly awaited car will be making its way to Assetto Corsa soon. The Lotus 98T, as driven by Ayrton Senna and Johnny Dumfries in the 1986 Formula One season, will come to Kunos’ Early Access title with the next update, which is slated for July 18th (next week has no update, likely due to Independence Day in the US).

With over a thousand horsepower in a car just a hair under 1,200 pounds, this car will be a monster on-track! Kunos is also hard at work making AI enhancements for the sim, to ensure that they will be able to handle the car as well.

Visual enhancements are also in the pipeline, with some graphics engine changes coming in the next update. However, most things will be under the hood, with not much visual improvement until the new algorithms are more stable. More information about the visual upgrades will come in the near future.

  1. wedge's visions

I think the next update will be released next week regardless of July 4th, because Kunos is italian, not north american. As an Ayrton fan, I’m looking forward to this. Open wheel’s cars are fun to play with.
