In addition to the official content, MXGP includes features to try to make one of the most realistic motocross racing titles yet. A unique control scheme allows the player to have total control over the rider and his movement. Deformable terrain ensures that no two laps will be the same. A career mode will allow you to live the life of a professional MXGP rider, fighting for the championship.

You can purchase MXGP from their official site here, as well as it being available on Steam. What are your thoughts on the game? Are you looking to check it out?

  1. This game is pretty good depending on what you are looking for. It’s typical Milestone fare that has good points and a lot of missed points from their lack of focus on detail. It is more in the line of their SBK/MotoGP games and not as arcadish as the MX vs ATV series or their last effort Mud.

The good is the control and that the bikes have weight and don’t float like a leaf. the downside is if you are looking for something really deep and sim-like. If so you may be disappointed. The biggest problem is an auto throttle shut off that can’t be disabled. So when you are in the air or apply brakes the throttle closes so it’s frustrating and really negates the manual shift option. Also the game rewards arcade style play. For example when cornering if you are turning right and have the rider going to the left as you would in real life the bike won’t turn as fast as if you just let the game control the body position. There is a limit to how long you can scrub or whip before the game just auto corrects you for landing. So stuff like that can be annoying, when you are looking for a deeper challenge. Online and other modes need a lot of work and there are a number of standard options that are missing. and it’s based on the 2013 schedule not 2014 but its still easily the best playing MX game released.

It’s not coming to the US. But its on Steam. You can get the PC & PS3 versions off ebay and they will work on US systems.
