New SimBin Dev-Blog Talks R3E Multiplayer Alpha Testing

SimBin has released their latest Dev-Blog previewing next weeks patch for RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) and multiplayer alpha.  Next weeks patch will continue the dismantling of the corner markers at seven new tracks:

  • Bathurst
  • Zandvoort
  • Hockenheimring
  • Mid Ohio
  • Protimao
  • Suzuka
  • Mazda Laguna Seca

A few other updates in the patch include a VIP driver profile for real life drivers that allow fans to follow them and try to beat their lap times, class based competitions and a competition history tab.

The Dev-Blog also goes into great lengths about the upcoming multiplayer alpha testing.  Alpha testing will launch for DTM Experience Season Pass Holders first in May or June.  Once the first round of stress test is complete ( a few weeks), all DTM Experience 2013 players will be allowed to join the testing.  What about R3E players?  R3E uses a middleware menu system called Scaleform instead of the online system used by DTM, making it a lot more work to get those players connected to the multiplayer alpha.  The online system first needs to be built for R3E so it’s going to take longer.
