Presenting our first in depth look at Race Room Racing Experience by SimBin Studios.
Darin and Jason provide some insight into R3E and give you their impressions on what it’s like in it’s current state. They also discuss some of the changes that will be coming soon in a future patch.
This is not a full review and we don’t put it on our “Revs” scale. That will come at a later date.

Yeah you guys nailed it on some of the pluses and minuses. I have been playing on and off for 2 years and have spent the majority of my time trying to get my G27, buttkicker2, tv and pc all set then I upgraded to a GTX780 3 Gb video card and I went back to the drawing board. Soon I will be triple screening and I will be tinkering away many more hours.
Even with that, I have really started enjoying the competitions, as SpatialDragon, and they are great. I have bought most of the tracks and about 1/2 the cars. The bought ones are better in my opinion. I love the old Ford GT. They are all great, but the DTM cars in the free competitions need some better sound. The ADAC which I think is Blancpain or real close, that was superb while it was free. I am buying into that.
I am happy you guys are hitting these games again as they are developing so well. I am really excited to see their multi-player. Keep up the great coverage.
Hey Tim,
the ADAC GT Masters is a series on it’s one but quite similar to the Blancpain series. Would be great to have both on R3E;)
Would be nice to get more people to R3E and on the leaderboards. It was released in 2012 ago and it’s still in beta! I will not think of how it was back then and can imagine it frustrated
many people. Maybe it’s better to create a solid base first and release a
public beta later to avoid bad publicity 😉
It is really frustrating how many of the racing games have become mired down and not progressed like I thought they would. R3E has a great game, but they need to get a multi-player going and that is not easy or cheap. It takes servers that can connect U.S. to Australia and back to Europe several times over… PSN has a great system set up and even it has huge flaws. iRacing has a superb system going and that is why it costs so much to play there. I have invested in all of them both time and money as a player and I have seen Simraceway shrivel up into a husk of its potential. I really hope R3E is able to make the transition into multiplayer and become one of the big players. That ADAC league was absolutely incredible as a preview. But if I can’t talk with my friends and race with them, I can’t see anyone unseating iRacing and the PSN games of GT6 and soon Project Cars.
Why bother? This game really isn’t all that good, not for the money, not for the space it takes, not for the physics, not for the money of a “free 2 race,” where spending money in a f2p becomes pretty much a necessity after 1 lap with their base content. It’s a deceitful and disappointing thing from SimBin.
