Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO Delayed Until 2016

Not that long ago we were talking about the epic rally rumble that was poised to happen this Fall between DiRT Rally, WRC 5 and Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO.  Now that rumble has been pushed back.

Milestone have announced that their title, Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO, will not be released in October but sometime in “Early 2016”.  Check out the PR statement below:

Milestone announces that Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo, originally scheduled for release on October 2015 onXbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, PlayStation®4 and Windows PC/Steam, now will be available “Early 2016”.

“Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO is the biggest project ever made by Milestone since now. We’ve decided to postpone it to focus more on the title development. This release date change will offer to the players a rally simulation that represents a higher quality on the videogame experience”, affirms Luisa Bixio, V.P. Milestone.

Currently in development at Milestone studios in Italy, Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo will be available “Early 2016” on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and PC/Steam

Darn.  It would be interesting to know what caused the delay.  We haven’t seen a whole lot of Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO, which could mean something or nothing.  Usually new title delays come down to bug fixes versus lack of content completion.

Darin did get a chance to try it out on the PlayStation 4 at E3 last month.  Maybe Milestone needed more time to polish the PC and Xbox One versions (the under powered Xbox One was a major sticking point for the Project CARS team)?

Whatever the reason for the delay, I hope that Milestone will release a good, bug free, title in 2016.

  1. From what I saw in the videos it is nowhere near ready for release. Hopefully they make it as good as they can before releasing. By then Dirt Rally will be old enough that I will be ready for this new rally game.

  2. I was so disappointed by the delay, but they’ll have more time to work on details…we’re expecting a really well done product! 🙂
