32pixels has released the 1986 IMSA Toyota Celica GTO mod for rFactor 2 along with the semi-fictional Lester track. First the Celica. The 450 bhp Toyota was built by the famed All American Racers (AAR) group and competed in the very popular IMSA series from ’86-’88. As the video below shows, it was only a Celica in name and a full blown race car in actuality.

As for Lester, it’s a semi-fictional track cut through a harbor setting (Long Beach?). The industrial local creates the most dramatic shadowing I’ve ever seen in rFactor 2. As this video from BSNismo shows, this may be the prettiest car/track combo to ever be created for an ISI title. Seriously, if you would have told me this is an rFactor 2 video I would have called you a liar…all day.

The Celica and Lester can be downloaded here and here.

Not terribly interested in the car but the track looks interesting. Sort of looks like something you’d see near Noshar Canals in Battlefield 3. LOL.
I’ll have to give it a go.
Well, I gave it a go. I really like the track quite a bit. Still expecting a war to break out somehow but, very fun to drive. Some good turns for drifting if you’re into that sort of thing.
Doesn’t look like there’s much interest in this here but I’ll say it again. This is one hell of a fun car/track combo. And if the track doesn’t look exciting enough for you, then I’d suggest downloading the car and taking for a spin on Nordschleife. It sort of feels like an old DRM car.
