Turn 10 – Forza Motorsport Studio Tour Part One

A few weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege of being invited to go on a tour of Turn 10s studio. If you’re not familiar with Turn 10, they are the creators and developers of the Forza Motorsport Series of games for the XBox consoles.

In this tour, I got to check out the new process they are using with laser scan technology to bring tracks to life in very realistic detail. I also got to hear a lot about car development, sounds, drivatar and get to test drive Long Beach and the 77 Coyote Gilmore before it was released to the public.

I also sat down with some guys from the force feedback development team and they asked my questions and I offered advice on how it feels as well as things I’d like to see implemented.

It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy this show I put together on my tour.

  1. Hey Darin, this was a well detailed piece, great work as usual. I was actually looking out for Jason being with you, but I’m just guessing that his regular day job strikes at the opportunity, you guys keep up the great work.

  2. Darin, great interview as always! I am this close to buying an xbox 1 but with the teaser of maybe it coming to windows platform it keeps me from doing it. But my question to you about your visit and I am not sure if you asked them this or not, did you ask about FOV? Can we change it? I know this is a pet peeve of your and I share the same. Thanks.
