Presenting our impressions of World of Speed from our first try of it at E3 2014. Unfortunately they didn’t allow me to film my test drive, but I will tell you what I thought about it here in this show as well as show off some of the images and trailer footage.
World of Speed is developed by Slightly Mad Studios for My.com and is a MMO arcade racing game. Yes, that’s right.. arcade racer so if you don’t want to know anything about an arcade racer, don’t bother watching.
I got to ask Andy Tudor of Slightly Mad some questions about this new MMO for the PC and shared his answers with you in this video.

I hope atleast there are no anoying powerups like in Need for Speed World and Blur, if thats the case it could be a nice game.
It is free? So how are they funding it? Lots of advertisements or commercials? I mean it sounds like fun, but free makes me leary. Arcade is a great way to get new folks started, then we can lure them into simracing…. So some of us hardcore racers need to go there and help the company and new folks get started…
I should know this, because I have signed up on their forums, but I haven’t really cared to put in the effort to participate actively. Off the top of my head, advertisments/commercials and micro transactions a la RRRE?
