XBox One Wheels Coming Soon

Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson goes in depth on the future of racing accessories for Xbox One with Bradon Powell who is with the XBox One accessories team.  His team works with all the 3rd party accessory companies like Thrustmaster and Mad Catz.

Brandon is claiming that they are doing force feedback different than it’s ever been done. He’s saying in the past, the effects have all been “canned”.  Now, is he referring to the console, specifically the XBox, or is this across the board, PC simulations included. Pretty open ended statement if you ask me. I would guess that he was referring to how it was done on the consoles, or specifically the XBox. He states that they’re now using “an equation language” to communicate with the peripherals like never before. Things like “RPM or ABS” can be “pushed down” to the wheel. I could have sworn that’s also been done.

They also showcase the two new offerings from Thrustmaster and Mad Catz.  I’ve also included some images that I grabbed from the video below.

At about the 3:45 mark they make it clear that Fanatec wheels, or XBox 360 peripherals will not work on the XBox One. They state that it’s due to the level of innovation that’s being performed with the new console.
